Live from my school's computer lab!

You won't believe where I am right now! I am using the internet on my school's computer in my school's computer lab! This is the first time in almost three years that my school's computers had access to internet! Praise the Lord!
I'm sitting next to my good Australian/Malaysian friend, (Aussmalaysian) Athirah and she is sitting here whinning that eveytime she touches a computer, it doesn't work. We are just surfing the web for some jokes. Here are some that we have found....

A sudden change of mind

My Dearest Susan,
Sweetie of my heart. I've been so desolate ever since I broke off our engagement. Simply devastated. Won't you please consider coming back to me? You hold a place in my heart no other woman can fill. I can never marry another woman quite like you. I need you so much. Won't you forgive me and let us make a new beginning? I love you so.
Yours always and truly,John

P.S. Congratulations on you winning the state lottery.

A guy walks into a doctors office with a 5 iron wrapped around his neck and 2 black eyes. "What happened to you?" asked the doctor. "Well it all started when my wife and I were golfing and by accident she hit the ball into a cow field. When we went to investigate, I saw the ball in a cow's butt. I went and lifted the tail of the cow and that's when I made my mistake." The doctor looked puzzled and asked, "What mistake was that?""I said 'Hey this looks like yours honey!'"

Michael Jackson is DEAD!

A son, a brother, a father, a singer, a dancer, a pop icon. Gone. Michael Jackson passed away at the age of 50 after collapsing in his house on Thursday. He suffered a cardiovascular heart attack and the cause of death is yet to be identified.
I heard the news on my way to school. When I heard, I thought it was just a rumour. The truth finally hit me when I heard all of Michael's songs being played as a tribute on the radio. I've been on the verge of tears and in denial denial all day long.
Words cannot describe how much Michael Jackson has inspired today pop music. We love you Michael! You'll always be loved and deeply missed!

The Finish Line

I can see the finish line,
I want to cross it and shine,
My parents start to cry with joy, my family cheers,
Finally, I've made them proud after all these years.

The sound of the TV snaps me back to reality,
I'm supposed to be studying but instead I'm watching MTV,
What if I want to win,
But I don't want to run the race?

I see all the prizes. the fortune and the fame,
At the end of road, but it's too hard to take,
Because I'm so tired, I can't run anymore,
The finish line disappears, I feel so sore.

I'm done with all the crying, 3 years ago,
I've beaten myself up, I don't want to do it anymore,
I've got my whole family, and God with me too,
This time I'm not going to lose.

It's Official: He's Gay!

He might have lost the Idol title to Kris Allen but it is Adam Lambert who gets to be on the cover of Rolling Stone! And it is through the magazine that he has finally comfirmed what many has suspected. "I don't think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear that I'm gay," Adam says in the new issue of RS.
"I'm proud of my sexuality. I embrace it. It's just another part of me," the 27-year-old adds.
But don't expect Adam to be the poster boy for gay rights because he is not out to preach. "I'm trying to be a singer, not a civil rights leader."
He also explains the reason on why he refused to come clean during American Idol. "I was worried that [coming out] would be so sensationalised that it would overshadow what I was there to do, which was sing. I'm an entertainer, and who I am and what I do in my personal life is a separate thing. it shouldn't matter. Except it does. It's really confusing."

Source: Galaxie blog.

Well, that just settles it. There is also another wild rumour spreading around that Adam has a crush on Kris Allen. A source of my own told me that Adam had recently said, "If Kris wasn't married, I'd go after him myself." I don't know whether to laugh at this or to be disgusted.
We all know that Adam is an awesome singer and entertainer. We shouldn't let the fact that he's gay overshadow he's abilities. I mean, who are we to pass judgemnt at other people for their beliefs and stuff. The only one who has power to do that is God and though some of us claim to be Him, well, we're not!

The Importance Hand Phones for Teenagers

My eyes have finally been opened and I have experienced firsthand the importance of a hand phone for teenagers. What some people don't realise is that is not only to act as a thing that makes us look cool to our friends, it is also the key that makes us feel whole as a teenager. I know I might on the verge of crap here, but just hear me out.
My hand phone has been missing for almost a week. I eventually found it, but the whole time I felt that something was misssing every time I went out. It was so weird to have my pockets so empty. So, it really made an impact with me. Alright, it's starting to sound like I'm mourning the lost of my fish or something.
So, whenever an adult starts lecturing you about how they were fine without hand phones, they are lying!

Your new American Idol is...KRIS ALLEN!

I know all you Adam Lambert fans will curse me for being a traitor for saying this but, I am so glad Kris won!
And I have to say that this has been the best finale show ever. But according to other news, it is also the least watched finale show in American Idol history. So let me just deal with all this crap before I go on praising Kris.

There has been a lot of complaints circling the Internet about Kris Allen's win. Well, first of all, you guys were doing the damn voting! I can understand the complaints from those, who like me, had no power to vote. So, to all Americans, you had that authority to vote and it seems that you wanted Kris to win. If you wanted Adam to walk away with the tittle, you would have voted from him!

The Black Eyed Peas performed their song 'Boom Boom Pow' and I know I speak on behalf of everyone who watched the show when I say that it was probably the best of the entire night! I was in school as I had and exam to sit for but I made sure the public phones were clear for me to phone my mum and find out. I swear somebody wanted to call the mental ward when I started screaming and chanting Kris's name!

To be honest, I really think Kris is a talented singer and he just happens to have more fans than Adam. I love the fact that he won but I didn't like it when his wife ran on stage to hug him. I was jealous! I felt like pushing her off the stage. No offense to her though. I'm just acting like a practical teenage girl.

To all Adam Lambert fans, don't worry. We all know that Adam is a rocking vocalist and he will definitely do well in the future. In fact, all of them will be successful recording artists so I'm not worried. Now, all I have to do is find something else to do to fill in my Wednesday and Thursday afternoons!

And then, there were only two....

I was just reading a previous post of mine where I gave my opinion on the other contestants of American Idol. And I saw that I had wrote that Kris Allen had a good voice but he didn't have a chance of making it to the finals. I literally had to bash my head with the keyboard when I saw last night's result show. Who would ever thought the 'Dark Horse' of the competition beat out the expected American Idol?

In the beginning of the competition, I had no idea who this guy was. And when he was chosen as one of the top 36, I wasn't interested in Kris at all. All I saw was Adam and Danny who were the ones to watch in the competition. When he made the top 12, that was a total surprise. I bet that none of us even knew him until his name was announced. But the more I think about, Kris Allen is just full of surprises! No one expected him to make it to the top 12, everyone was sure he wouldn't last long enough to make it to the top 3, and all jaws were dropped when Kris was announced as the first person into the top 2.

The other person to make it to the top 2 is Adam Lambert. I don't mean to brag but......I TOLD YOU SO! If he hadn't made it to the top 2, I would have caught the first plane to America just to beat up the guy who counts the votes. Next week is the finals! Most people think that Adam is the next American Idol but Kris has shown us how good he can rearrange songs and make it his own and his tendency to surprise himself and the rest of America. So my guess is that this year's American Idol is going to be a photo finish.

Now, Jordin Sparks and Katy Perry took the stage at the result show. Why does all the past American Idol's who come back to the show to perform sound great whereas the singers that are already famous just sound crappy? Jordin Sparks sang her new song which was written by Ryan Tedder from One Republic. Not only was the song awesome but she sounded awesome too. As for Katy Perry, I have to give it to her. She is an excellent entertainer. She had this really crazy outfit on, so did all of her backup dancers. At the beginning of her song, she had a white cape that had the words 'ADAM LAMBERT' on it. So, who do you think is her favourite?

Below you will find Kris's rendition of 'Heartless' by Kanye West. It is probably his best performance ever and even Randy Jackson said that it was better than the original. My guess is that it was this song that saved Kris's butt and carried him through to the top 2. Be sure to check in next week as I will definitely have news about the finale of American Idol.

The Truth Behind Study Groups!

First of all, just to set a good example to all you youngsters out there, it is a great idea to form a study group with your friends because it truly is a fun and effective way to get some studying done. But if your names are Arvina and Samreen, this is what really happens during a so-called study group. (To clear things up, we did do an hour of Mathematics and History!)

Wow! So hard at work!

Quizzing each other. Pop Quiz!

Proof that we actually did something!

So Close Yet So Far For Allison

Let me just day one thing, ROCK AND ROLL WEEK WAS THE BEST! Probably my favourite week ever on American Idol. And guess who was the best? Obviously it has to be Adam! When was he ever bad? This week he sang a really cool song by Led Zeppelin and he rocked it! I think it is safe to say, again, that he is definitely in the top 2.
Let's talk about Kris Allen. The guy sang a song by the Beatles. He is cute, he can sing and he is a guy. So, it was kind of obvious that he would make the top 3. Most people were shocked and a little frustrated that Kris got a spot and Allison didn't but it all comes down to majority right? And the majority of girls that watch the show are higher than guys so, there's the reality.
Let's dish about Danny Gokey's final note. That is definitely going to be the theme song for Halloween this year. But you have to admit that Danny is a killer singer and he does deserve to be on the top 3. Did I mention that he is the only contestant on American Idol that hasn't been on the bottom 3? Doesn't that tell you what a good singer and the size of the fan base he's got?
Words can't describe how incredibly talented and hot Adam Lambert is so let's move on to Allison. Personally, I wanted to see her in the top 3 but she is only seventeen and I am positive that this is not the end for her. She is definitely going to make it big in Hollywood. Even bigger than Miley Cyrus I hope. Fingers crossed!
So, this a tribute to Allison Iraheta. It's a duet of Adam Lambert and her singing a song called "Slow Ride". It is probably my favourite song of the whole season. Keep it up, Allison!

Sit Back and Relax

Don't you just love those e-mails with those really funny jokes that just make you completely forget your troubles and laugh for a while? Keep reading if you answered yes. So, for the first time on my blog, I'm going to comfort you guys with a relaxing joke instead of treating you to my usual sarcastic posts.

Job at FBI
The FBI had an opening for an assassin and three finalists were chosen.
Two of them were man and one was female.
For the final test, the FBI agents took one of the man, lead him to a door and handed him a gun.
"We must know that you are able to follow instructions under any circumstances. Inside the room, you will find your wife sitting in a chair.....KILL HER!"
The man said, "You can't be serious. I could never shoot my wife."
The agent said "Then you are not right for the job. Take your wife and go home."
The second man was given the same instructions.
He took the gun and went into the room. After a quiet ten minutes, the man came out with tears in his eyes.
"I tried but I can't kill my wife," he admitted.
"Then you don't have what it takes. Take your wife and go home," the agent replied.
Finally, the woman stepped into the room with the gun and was asked to kill her husband. Shots were heard one after another. Then there was loud crashing, banging and violent screams. Then, all was quiet.
The woman stepped out of the room and wiped her forehead.
"The gun is loaded with blanks," she said. "I had to beat him to death with the chair!"

The moral of the story is, women are crazy. Don't mess with them!

Need a heart attack? Read this!

Let me just start by saying this. When Matt Giraud was saved by the judges in a previous episode, it was so obvious that they were going to do it. There was no element of surprise there. And because of that, they have decided that American Idol has to be more unpredictable. And that's my theory on how Adam Lambert ended up in the bottom three this week!

The show started off great with the group performance and a really hilarious clip on the Idols having a food fight. Then, it was time to get serious and get to the results. The Idols were separated into two teams. Matt Giraud and Kris Allen were standing on the right side of the stage, while Allison Iraheta and Danny Gokey were on the left side. Then, Ryan Seacrest asked Adam to pick which group he belonged in. Honestly, Adam should have just kept quite because he said, quote,"Based on last night's performances, I would have to say that group," he answered gesturing to Allison and Danny. But Ryan Seacrest pulled him over to Matt and Kris and announced that that was the bottom three. You should have seen the look on every one's faces. Allison and Danny didn't even go to their seats because they were practically frozen in shock. Kara Dioguardi's jaw dropped open, as usual and the crowd was practically close to tears. And of course, I was screaming my lungs sore and threatening to throw something at the television with my mum reminding me if I did, I owed her a lot of money.

Next, Ryan sent Kris back to safety so only Matt and Adam was left. But thankfully, Matt was eliminated in the end.

For all this time, I was thinking that Adam has already won the competition but this has got me thinking that anything can happen at this stage of the competition. Now, it's down to the final four: Allison, Kris, Danny and Adam. I predicted that maybe Allison or Kris will be in trouble. They are all just too good. But we will just have to wait and see what happens.

Whose Line Is It Anyway?

I believe it's my job as a blogger, to introduce you guys to some of the finest things in life. In this case television!
Now, when you're out saving the world from poverty and sickness, (which I applaud to those of you who do), I am going to contribute my part in helping the world by suggesting something that can help you unwind and relax so you can come up with more life-changing ideas. What more can I do to save the world?
'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' is probably the only show I ever laugh at until tears are streaming out of my eyes. It's hosted by Drew Carey and it stars three main comedians, Wayne, Ryan and Collin. Basically, in every show, Drew Carey will give them a certain topic and the comedians have to improvise on ways to make it funny. The best part is, none of it is scripted. The comedians have to come up with a funny line on the spot and they are damn good!
Here's a sample on what the show is about. This is one of my favourite games, 'Scenes From A Hat'. In this game, the audience will have to write a scene that they want the actors to preform and Drew gets to pick some of them! Enjoy! And remember. Laughter is the cure to World Issues!

P.S You might not get some of it and it is more of a grown up kind of comedy style! Don't say I didn't warn you!

School ISN'T Cool!

It's the dreaded time of year again. Folio time! It's that particular time a year where Geography and History lessons are put on hold so the the time could be used to discuss the folio's. I bet a majority of you reading this has heard in one way or another, teenagers screaming and blogging in anger about this dreaded thing. Take my fellow bloggers, Gaveena and Raevitha for example.
Speaking of Gaveena, she's about to do a summary on a book tomorrow. I would like to wish her luck and to remind her that I will be watching and you will be seeing my critic of it in my next post!
Coming back to the topic on school. As I was saying, folios are a nuisance. They were supposed to be given to us in February and we were to turn it in in July. But as all teachers enjoy watching students crack under the pressure of a short time period, we were assigned to our folios in late March and we are supposed to send it in by the end of April!
As brilliant as I am, I have this tendency to underestimate time, so I am spending sleepless nights just thinking about my folio still uncompleted in my computer. I'm actually trying to finish it now while updating my blog. Now that's what I call multi-tasking!
I'm also going to catch today's episode of American Idol. Aren't I just the perfect example for all PMR candidates out there? I'm going to end my topic on school for now. It just puts a damper on the rest of my blog. You are all welcomed to skip the post! Till the next post...

My opinion on American Idol Season 8

Guess what? I didn't go to school today! My sympathies to my fellow bloggers who did have to show up at school. My mum overslept and I only got up at 7.30am. Ah, bliss!
Now, prior to the title of this post, Wednesday happens to be my favourite day of the week. The most ultimate reason is, of course American Idol!!
Let's dish about American Idol shall we? We'll start with Kris Allen. In my opinion, he is so freaking cute and can really sing. But there are no chances that we will see him in the finals. Next is Danny Gokey. Danny is one of the front runners of this competition. He is consistent every week and there is a huge possibility he will be one of the finalist of this competition. Now what about Lil Rounds? I have no idea what's going on with her. She has a voice that sounds like it was a gift from God, but she has been choosing terrible songs over the weeks. Frankly, I don't want to see her go. If she does, there would only be one female contestant left and I'm just thinking for all the women population out there. Then, we have the guy who made Idol history by being the first contestant to be saved by the judges, Matt Giraud. I don't care if he has a gigantic zit smack on his forehead, have you heard him sing? He can riff like nobody's buisness. Again, don't think he'll make it to the finals, but anything can happen at this stage. Next, Anoop Desai. I'm rooting for the guy because he is the first Indian guy on the show that can really sing (excluding Sanjay Malakar. He was cute though). But I feel that he is very pugnacious. I mean, he acts as if he doesn't take the judges words into consideration.
Last but not least, in my opinion the best of the bunch, Adam Lambert and Allison Iraheta. I am not prejudice so I think that Adam Lambert has already won the competition (even though he is gay. Why are all the cute ones gay? How is a girl supposed to find a guy?). He has a voice that will never be heard again on national television for goodness sake! I bet there is a spot in the top three with his name on it. Allison Iraheta (as my fellow pyscho blogger, Melvinder puts it) should win American Idol. And I have to admit it too. Have you heard the girl hit even one bad note so far? Even if she doesn't win, she's only sixteen and she has a bright future ahead of her.
So that's it from this American Idol fanatic. Don't forget to watch this week's episode as two people will be going home tomorrow as the Judge's save has been used!

Till next time....

Update

Happy Saturday everybody! Don't you just love Saturdays? There is something about them that just hypnotizes you so that you don't feel like working or doing anything. I was just lying back, playing my PlayStation! Ah, what bliss!
But enough about me. I'm here to tell you about the taekwondo grading my sisters went to today. Arveeta was sitting for her Red 2 exam! Guess what? She had to break a plank! And she did on her second try!
My youngest sister did well too. She was probably the best out of her group! Congrats, sis!
By the way, if you're anxious for more pictures of David Archuleta, you find them in my Facebook page.

Crushin' on David Archuleta! Part 2

More pictures coming up folks. There is too much to upload in one post. Stay tuned!!

Crushin' on David Archuleta! Part 1

It was my first ever concert. I had to skip school for it and let me tell you, IT WAS WORTH IT! I can't believe I was this close to him!
Me and my sis (whom I love so much as she was the one who won the tickets) were there at 1 o'clock when the showcase wasn't starting till' 3, but even then it was full. We had to sit on a plant. Florence and her friend were there too so that was cool.
Waited for almost 3 hours! At 3.30, the Hitz.Fm deejay's JJ and Ian (who by the way was so hot!) came out, asked some questions and gave out prizes. Then they brought out a local Malaysian singer. He was an awesome dancer. Then, a guy who was from the first season of One In A Million came to preform. He supposedly ditched National Service to come. Next, the dude who won the second Malaysian Idol preformed. It was past 4.30 by now.
At exactly 5.00, David stepped on stage. I was immediately deaf and almost to tears. I don't know why, but it's so weird to see a person you've seen on tv in front of you and preforming live. You know how some singers sound good on the album but the suck when they sing live? Well, David sounded exactly like his album. Which just comes to show what a really good singer he is!
Enough of this minute-by-minute detail of the concert. Pictures are above this post guys. Eat your heart out!

Read It And Weep!

First of all, congrats to my fellow braceface, Gaveena on her first blog! Hope she gets inspired to keep up with it!
Second of all, my sister just won tickets to see David Archuleta live in Malaysia! Bad news is that I would be kissing up to her for the next two years!
The concert's tomorrow. Hope it's everything I expect it to be! And that's the end of this very imformative yet short post!

Cure to Boredom

Trouble keeping your eyes open during lectures? Constantly day dreaming whenever the teacher opens her mouth? Curious stabbing pains on your butt? Well, my friend, you have shown all the symptoms of TMMB! (Teachers Make Me Bored)! Some of the greatest scientists of all time have worked tirelessly over the years to develop a cure. (I can't think of any right now!) But what me and my two friends have come up with will keep your sanity intact as you endure the boring lectures of people who swear they are there to teach you and not kill you with boredom!

Alright. So I might be exaggerating just a tiny bit. But me and my friends have come up with a way to overcome boredom (and stabbing pains on your butt). First, meet my partners in crime.

Supplier (Me!)

Inventor (Gaveena!)

Test Subject (Kavithraa!)

So, what happened was, we were at this motivation thing which was not so bad except for the fact it was in Tamil. So, naturally me and Gaveena didn't understand a word of it.

Then, Veena starts messing with my pencil box and pulls out all my highlighters and starts drawing on her skin. It was so cool that Kavi had to try it out. And then, not wanting to be left out I insisted on getting my hand tattooed too. We now call it 'our logo'. We're sort of branded now. Here is a glimpse at what our future tattoos are going to look like!

It's not very clear, but you can faintly see the highlighter on my skin. That's my hand by the way. And there you have it. A foolproof way to endure a endless lecture. With no harmful side effects. Though it might cost you around five ringgit worth of highlighters!

Music

9th March 2009

Just take a minute and listen to the first on your iPod or your mp3 or mp4. What do we actually hear? The music, the lyrics, the guitar, the piano or that really weird screaming noise at the back?
I have come to a conclusion. If you listen to most of today's music, you will hear two main lines in it. It's either "I see you in the club' or "I wanna make love". Is that seriously what we ever really hear on the radio. To name a few songs, "Cookie Jar" by Gym Class Heroes and "Right Now" by Akon. Don't get me wrong. These songs are alright but would it kill to ask for a little more variety?
If you ask me, I really like to listen to the guitar playing. I'm not guitarist myself but I just love the complexity of the playing method. I also like songs with really touching meanings to it. I can't remember any but there are some sensitive songs.
I'm currently listening to Skye Sweetnam. Her songs are more loud, violent and contains a lot of complex guitar playing. If you want to check her out, you should try listening to 'Make-Out Song', 'Music Is My Boyfriend' and 'Human'
Let me know what you guys think about music. If you want. Till' then...

(Hey! No senseless sarcasm in this post! Oh! Never mind)

Ramblings of a Newly Appointed 15 Year Old Part 1

25 January 2009

Damn! January hasn't done me any good so far. I admit I was excited at the prospect of seeing my friends again and maybe I was anxious to begin studying after a long, hard earned time of lazing around. And I also guess the famous saying really does exist; BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!
The minute I stepped into the classroom, (sweating out buckets because of the mad stampede to get a decent sitting place) I was greeted by teachers who made it crystal clear that Form 3 was going to be hell on earth. I also got homework on the first day because the teachers believe that we should be mature enough to start studying immediately. Puh-leeze. I mean, have of the Form 3 students probably still watch Disney Channel! (or is it just me?) Does that sound mature to you?
I'm also taking more interest in co-curriculum. So I signed up for a badminton competition and a chess competition. But the two events coincided with each other so I chose the safer one. Chess, of course. So, I've been practicing on online games with the computer. I think I must have played over 20 games and lost each and every one of them!!
Well, January's coming to an end. I'm just hoping that February will be more merciful towards me! Note to anyone reading this, PRAY FOR ME!
